Chinese Restaurant

I still remember those Sundays when my family and I went to our favorite Chinese restaurant here in Guatemala. When I was like six years old or even less, we ate at this special place. You said that something is special when you know, care, visit, and trying to make it yours; so we considered it special too,I will continue telling about the greatest Sundays. When you get inside this place, you start smelling that authentic and unique smell from Chinese food. That is so delicious that will makes you to concentrate in the food; only with that smell will be the beginning for your brain to start imagine it.

The restaurant´s structure is the same from the Chinese places, and the colors are so peculiar. The basic colors are red and green. When you sit for start eating, just can make a pause and take some minutes to look at all of the decoration. The pictures, paintings, lamps, and the background music is oriental, completely the Chinese culture, which is a culture that I really appreciate.

You can see at that restaurant that are some texts written in Chinese; that is very curious if you don’t know how to read or write in Chinese. In spite of their unique varieties of food, most of the foods can actually be found in the West. The main difference is that the cooking habits of the Chinese and Westerners are different. The Chinese tend to combine certain flavors and with ingredients that are specially seasoned with specific sauces or spices.

The cuisine in China differs from one region to another, but with major differences found between the north and the south. The spiciest cuisine in China is that found in Sichuan cooking. They tend to use garlic and pepper in all of their dishes, while Cantonese cooking has less oil and spices in their vegetable, fish and seafood dishes. Beijing and Shandong cooking tends to use more cereal products (noodles, and pastry pouches either steamed or boiled) and use simple ingredients with spices and chili. Reading this you will be a person that will prefer Chinese food.

I remember that at the enter of the restaurant was a Chinese, she was the owner I guess, but sincerely I think she is the owner. She always was in the phone, taking notes and telling everybody to come in. She is a social person, well she needs to be that way to get more clients; but that is not such important, the thing here is that the owner was at her restaurant for monitoring everything.

The waiters obviously have their formal uniform and always running of course, because at 12:00 am was like a Shakira´s concert; that means full of people. Most of the time you need to wait for taking sit; and that waiting will be more because you need to order and then eat. It sounds like a big and huge process for only eat, but that doesn't matter how much time you have to wait for just eating Chinese food.

The waiters already knew us and knew what we were going to order. We order the same each time we go, so it was constantly. Every portion is different and their ingredients too like vegetables, sauce, and taste. The Restaurant now is so change; you can find more parking, tables and space. The bathrooms are completely different, but the ones that don’t change are the waiters. They are the same just few of them new ones.

The only thing that isn´t very good or the aspect that does´tmake the restaurant perfect is that they don’t have express service that will be something good. Because there are some moments that you are very tired and you want to eat at home. If you can have the opportunity to take a look for the Chinese culture, just do it, you will love it.
