The Day when I get lost

A special adventure that I had, it was when we were invited an end of year by a few friends to their apartment they had in Orlando,  United States. My dad said to us from several months earlier, that we would go at the end of the year to spend the New Year to Orlando with this family, who had two daughters and one of them, the smallest has the same age that I have.
I remember that we prepare the trip and thought to be  a few days firstly in Miami. It was getting excited to think of going to such coloring beaches of Miami, as well as going shopping and to walk along the Avenue Collins and to see the whole quantity of hotels that there are.
When it came the day in which we would do the trip could not believe it. Since it was very exciting. We go out one December 25 after a night of sleeplessness and celebration and our flight  was going out very early, so, we  were in the airport at 5 a.m. AM. I remember that there were many people at the airport taking their flights and that the airport was still in construction.
Finally they announced the exit of our flight and after approximately 2 hours of flight we were landing in Miami. We happen some days there and we went to the beach, to eat all kinds of rich and international food that they were offering us and to do all kinds of buys, which is what I more love of any trip.
There came the day in which we leave to Orlando. My dad was handling a very comfortable and big car that it had rented. Since we raise ourselves to the car we knew that it was another adventure in this incredible trip. We come to the apartment of our friends and after sharing a little bit, we decided to  go next morning to visit the parks, this way we did it. I remember we spent the December 31 in the park along with the personages of Walt Disney, living  the magic of the wonderful world of Disney.
So far quite there was going everything wonderful, the best of what  we can extract profit in a trip like this. A few days were missing for our return when we decide to go to do the last buys and keep on knowing other malls. I was going very exciting and wanted to buy  everything. In a moment I went inside in a sweets shop to buy some of them. My mom was coming behind me since I had asked her  to  accompany me, but I went forward. She calculated to find me in the shop while I was selecting the candies that I wanted but I don’t know  why I do not take a long time inside the shop and I went out  to meet again my mom. I lost her place and quickly I got anxious for not having seen her.
I remember that more or less close there was the store J.C. Penney where I went to be able to ask for help since it was lost. The first thing that I did was to speak with a lady who was entrusted and was speaking with another one . When I  explained them what was happening to me I remember that we rise at the level of administration and there  was  a very kind gentleman and they called by microphone my parents, telling them that I was in administration because I didn’t  find them. When my dad raised quickly, the first thing that I did  was to embrace him and then to begin to cry. In administration they gave me a Mickey in the snow. Which was graceful. When we go down already and quite I ran to my mom. Being like I was, we not know how we can react,  and the first thing that I was thinking is:  Will  I see and find my parents again?  Entirely a series of questions I was thinking.
Now, my parents  talk about this and they always say that they do not know the color  each one had in our faces, but when I was again with them, we  had the normal color in our faces and everything was ok.
I do not tell this for a  special thing,  but if,  for an adventure through that I had to live and that I was so scare.

A Cousin could be the Perfect Sister.

A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit, a golden thread to the meaning of life. Claudia was Born April 13, 1982 in Guatemala, the daughter of Luis Calderon, Auditor and Aída Regina Blanco Pérez, Business Administrator. She is the oldest one and has a sister named Diana del Rosario Calderón Blanco. She studied at the  Instituto Belga Guatemalteco until third grade, and then she moved to the Colegio Verbo. Always obtained the grades number one  in her class in both elementary and high school. Her favorite subjects were always Math, Science and English. During the primary did gymnastics for 4 years. At school she practiced foot-ball and basket-ball. When she was in nineth grade  she went for an exchange student for 6 months to Missouri, USA, and when she returned back to her country, she studied to be a  teacher, and  during her senior year (6th teachers) attended at the afternoon the "Teaching Trainning Course" at the IGA in order to have a degree that's credited as an English teacher.
She never  liked working with paper, or with accounts, she likes working with people and always wanted to be a doctor.
That is why in 2001  she joined the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of San Carlos de Guatemala, where the first three years were years of learning theory and the basic sciences. There, during that period, her favorite classes were: Clinical Sciences and Semiology. The first three years of study earned recognition in the event of Cátedra Prima of the Faculty of Medical Sciences for winning the first place in her class for three years.
From the fourth year the classes were teaching in hospitals in Guatemala. During the fourth year she made his practice of internal medicine and surgery at the Hospital General San Juan de Dios,  Family Clinic held in the Colonia Santa Fe, zone 13. During the fifth year she made her practice of pediatrics at Roosevelt Hospital, the gynecology at the Institute of Social Security and was studying infertility for 2 months at the Human Reproduction Unit of the Catholic University of Chile, Santiago de Chile.
During her trip to Chile she learned much more than medicine, she learned another culture. Chilean society is progressive and competitive society, she learned that Guatemala has to work harder to get out of underdevelopment where actually is.
During these two last years also placed first place in her class so that, was recognized by the Cátedra Prima in 2004 and 2005 too.

In 2006, when last year's race. 6 months was in the Hospital General San Juan de Dios for the Supervised Professional Practice (EPS) hospital and then performed the EPS Rural  in El Tejar , Chimaltenango. During the sixth year of her career came in second place in her class and was recognized by the Cátedra Prima. The curriculum of the career she ended in January 2007. She worked at the Sanatorio El Pilar from February 2007 to October of the same year. She graduated as a doctor and surgeon in June 2007. During his graduation she was honored with the recognition of "Cum Laude" for her high average over the 6 years of the race.
In 2007 she was chosen to give the speech on university autonomy on the anniversary of the University of San Carlos.  In November 2007, she applied to study the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Guatemalan Social Security Institute, where she earned first place in the program of opposition; then, she began in January 2008 that residence. During the year 2008 was chosen as the best student at the University of San Carlos de Guatemala and she did an interview for the newspaper XXI Century which listed the best students from all universities of Guatemala, it only was one representative from each university (they were 9 students in total ), she was the only woman selected for the interview. In December 2010 she was appointed Chief Resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2011 where she currently works.

Claudia is my cousin and also my best friend. She is single but she has a boyfriend. As she is a PE teacher, she likes working outdoors with people of all ages. On weekdays she gets up very early in the  morning and works until eleven o'clock in the evening so she is not able to spend much time with her family and friends. On weekends she travels as much as she can, considering she likes going to original places and loves new experiences. She loves shopping and she buys whatever catches her eyes.
My cousin , who is especially loyal to her internal value systems, believes that family is extremely important and so she dedicates all her spare time to them. Friends are also central in her life and this is shown in her reliableness and faithfulness. A strong sense of responsibility and duty guides her behaviour towards people in need. Although she has all these many qualities.
For Claudia, the keys to success are hard work, honesty and perseverance.  Undoubtedly my cousin  is an extraordinarily unique person that is why I love her.
Many people in my life have been a positive influence, but I have decided to write about one person in particular. I admire this person greatly. This person is my cousin, Claudia.
Claudia is a very special cousin. She is the sister I always dream to have.  One of the main reasons I admire her so much is her lovingness to her family. She was always caring and loving to all of our family. Because of her love, she always kept her promises. Responsibility is a word that describes Claudia.Another big reason I admire her is because of the intelligence she had.

A School Bus after time.

I remember I was in Nursery, a very little girl. Those were my first days at school. At that time, we lived with my parents in Honduras. We were in Honduras by the work of my dad. Even now, I can not imagine living in another country of Central America than Guatemala.

But back to my childhood, something that always caused me much laughter was when I had to go to wait  for the bus with my dad. Every day, from Monday through Friday I got up to go to school. I remember how my mom raised me with such sweetness and when I was dressed and almost ready to leave, my mom put me on perfume, and it was so, so identified with me that was already an own scent.

I left out with my little school bag, which I never sent me my schedule and tasks only small notebooks. My beautiful red lunchbox. I remember it was of cartoons at that time were the rage. When we were with my dad waiting for the bus, and It did no come,  came a moment when I despaired, and I think or I guess we left with several minutes before. Because  my parents have been always very timely. Seeing that the bus did not come to pick me up, I took back my lunchbox and I returned home. My dad just looked at me and  laughed so much seeing his daughter so small starting wing back home because the bus took too long and did not come.

Being impatient has always been with me. But when my dad saw I had walked, for me too much, but really less than 9 steps, returning to take me back to the bus stop. Finally the bus came and I went inside in a very  nice and big yellow bus. I remember it was a big bus for my size but  it was a particular bus. I  was happy and I was sitting at the window saying goodbye to my daddy.

I remember coming to school and my class was great with all my teammates. What I always keep in mind is to be in my class taking a rest watching the Little Mermaid movie and then we put that song. I think that character is identified a lot with me so many times we sang. My school is called La Estancia School. Since returning from Honduras I have not gone back to that school but to be honest I would love to go and see again mi first school, the small classes and the one   I stayed.

Another thing that I remember is how big it was, we had an incredible green areas, big gardens and ranches where the teachers seat us for eating. My teacher always was very special with me during  the time I was there. If I wanted  to sleep, she took me to the nursery. I had very precious moments during my infancy: at school, with friends, teachers, my parents, family, pet and so on.

Everything around me was taking part in my life. Always at all times and everywhere I always found people that consented me more than normal. Never had to  scold me because I behaved well because I really liked going to school. I will always remember my childhood as a stage that never ends, it goes on just that when we were oldest. The stage that influences us for the rest of our lives.  I would like to define childhood as a never-ending vacation. A weekend without a week Following playtime and everlasting. Since we are babies our parents we always tend to live life to the fullest, to appreciate what we have and always give thanks for what God gives us every day. Since I was born until now my life has been full of happy moments, satisfying and special moments I never will forget.

Sad with a Rainy Day.

I came up with: solemn, melancholy, dark, damp, sluggish, depressing, monotonous, never ending, groggy, grey, muddy, and dripping  It was a rainy day, similar to those that one wants to stay home, make a cup of coffee and relax, Watching favorite TV program. I decided that it was a day for me when I wanted to do something different. I started going over my homework assignments. The weather was very cold and rainy.
The sky was dark with big, puffy, gray clouds, and there was a light drizzle of rain. My face was pressed up to the window, watching as the rain poured down. It had been raining four hours and looked like it had no intention of stopping. The wind whipped the trees around like thin cornstalks. The raindrops would get caught in the force of the wind and blow in a horizontal path, slamming into the side of the house. Every barrage of raindrops sounded like thousands of darts hitting the house. As the raindrops hit the window, the glass grew misty and cold. I had to take my hands off the glass and pull them into my sweater, which was very warm and comfortable inside.

Everyone knows that the first color you see in the morning will establish your mood, and opening my window to a gray, wet day is depressing. I can not say I feel depressed only sad, but sun definitely cheers me up. It is quite a downer though if you live in a area with gray sky and lots of rain most of the time. I like sunshine.

I see light gray clouds covering the beautiful blue sky and blocking out the warm rays of the sun. The day is cold, and dark, and dreary; It rains, and the wind is never weary.
The Rainy Season comes after the Summer Season. So this season brings relief to everybody. We enjoy rains. Very often it rains for days together. The water level rises. Trees look more and more green. On a rainy day the sky remains covered with clouds. The sun remains hidden behind the clouds. Sometimes low-pressure occurs and it results in heavy rain.

Tanks and pools are filled with water. In this season the colour of the water in river turns yellow due to the particles of mud. Roads become muddy. Rain water flows on the roads. Small children prepare paper boats and float them along the stream of water.

The Rainy Season is helpful to us in many ways. The earth which was dry becomes cool and soft. The air becomes cool and comfortable. The air in this season is free from dust. Rain is helpful in agriculture. Farmers become happy to get adequate rain in this season. We get many kinds of vegetables in this season. If there is plenty of rain water, then it is preserved in dams for the hydro-electricity and irrigation purpose. Therefore we must be thankful to this season.

The Rainy Season is also not without troubles. It brings us some inconveniences. As roads become muddy, people face difficulty in going from one place to another. If it rains for days together, the working class people suffer from starvation. They do .not get any work anywhere. Prices of essential commodities go up due to interruptions in supply of goods to the market. Many diseases break out. Malaria, dysentery and diarrhea are quite common. Impure water is the chief reason of the spread of diseases. Flood occurs and brings heavy damage to crops.

I actually quite like rainy and snowy days. Rain can be quite peaceful especially if it's going to storm. Rain is something that can change a person´s thoughts or ideas, because that sad of a rainy day can influenced a lot. So you can change that and start making a rainy day being a happy and unforgettable day. Every time you want a special moment the weather could help a lot.

When you need her, she will always be with you.

Is curious how at the beginning a complete stranger could be your best friend. Someone I know a lot of her life and she isn´t part of my family, is my best friend. She is at the same school and we are in the same curse. A very important fact that will help in your life will be the school. It helps you to make friends, meet new people, learn, and try to deal with your classmates. But there is always someone for you, your best friend. You said “She is my Best Friend”, but are you sure that she is the one?

When someone is your best friend is because you know what she likes, know her sad moments, help when she needs help, you know her strength, her top secrets and her life. To call someone your best friend is difficult, because you have plenty of friends, but sincerely the mains ones will be with you at any time.

This is something I can sure tell to that special person that makes her own space in my heart and the brief words that makes it called her: My best friend. “  My Best Friend, my companion, through good times and bad; through happy and sad, beside me you stand, beside me you walk, you're there to listen, you're there to talk, with happiness, with smiles, with pain and tears, I know you'll be there, throughout the years.

She is seventeen years old. She has born in Guatemala, She has dark and black hair, brown eyes, a pretty smile; well she is a happy person. She studies at Colegio Internacional de Guatemala, she is in 9th grade. She loves to dance, she loves going to Starbucks, to Laser Heroes, to Pradera Concepción, going to the beach and all of the funny activities that you can make with your friends. Some of her habits at all days is waking up early, take a wash, eat breakfast and prepare for going to school. When she returns from school, she makes a lot of activities, going to sporta; the gym, and to Galeria Rios for dancing. She practices jazz. I can tell that she is very good at dancing and an excellent person. She is very positive and knows how to makes you smile.

People today, in this entire world have lost sight of what a true friendship is. I would help the world out a little and explain what real, true friends are:  Friends don't have to be exactly the same. Friends have similarities but they also have their differences. They key to opening up the world of friendship is not only to expand on similarities but to accept each other's faults. Because you can't ever judge your friend.

You have to be comfortable together or else you just aren't going to click. If you feel edgy around the person then something isn't quite right.  Friends love unconditionally. They have there little angry moments but what's done is done and all is forgive and forget. Why let something that happened in the past ruin what happiness you could have in the future?

Now, your idea of a goos friend is still the person who gives you the better of the two choices, hold your hand when tou are scared, helps you fight off those who try to take advantage of you, thinks of you at times when you are not there, reminds you of what you have forgotten, helps you put the past behind you but understands when you need to hold on to it a little longer, stays with you so that you have confidence, goes out of their way to make time for you, helps you clear up your mistakes, helps you deal with pressure from others, smiles for you when they are sad, helps you become a better person, and most importantly loves you! This is all I can express to that special person.

Chinese Restaurant

I still remember those Sundays when my family and I went to our favorite Chinese restaurant here in Guatemala. When I was like six years old or even less, we ate at this special place. You said that something is special when you know, care, visit, and trying to make it yours; so we considered it special too,I will continue telling about the greatest Sundays. When you get inside this place, you start smelling that authentic and unique smell from Chinese food. That is so delicious that will makes you to concentrate in the food; only with that smell will be the beginning for your brain to start imagine it.

The restaurant´s structure is the same from the Chinese places, and the colors are so peculiar. The basic colors are red and green. When you sit for start eating, just can make a pause and take some minutes to look at all of the decoration. The pictures, paintings, lamps, and the background music is oriental, completely the Chinese culture, which is a culture that I really appreciate.

You can see at that restaurant that are some texts written in Chinese; that is very curious if you don’t know how to read or write in Chinese. In spite of their unique varieties of food, most of the foods can actually be found in the West. The main difference is that the cooking habits of the Chinese and Westerners are different. The Chinese tend to combine certain flavors and with ingredients that are specially seasoned with specific sauces or spices.

The cuisine in China differs from one region to another, but with major differences found between the north and the south. The spiciest cuisine in China is that found in Sichuan cooking. They tend to use garlic and pepper in all of their dishes, while Cantonese cooking has less oil and spices in their vegetable, fish and seafood dishes. Beijing and Shandong cooking tends to use more cereal products (noodles, and pastry pouches either steamed or boiled) and use simple ingredients with spices and chili. Reading this you will be a person that will prefer Chinese food.

I remember that at the enter of the restaurant was a Chinese, she was the owner I guess, but sincerely I think she is the owner. She always was in the phone, taking notes and telling everybody to come in. She is a social person, well she needs to be that way to get more clients; but that is not such important, the thing here is that the owner was at her restaurant for monitoring everything.

The waiters obviously have their formal uniform and always running of course, because at 12:00 am was like a Shakira´s concert; that means full of people. Most of the time you need to wait for taking sit; and that waiting will be more because you need to order and then eat. It sounds like a big and huge process for only eat, but that doesn't matter how much time you have to wait for just eating Chinese food.

The waiters already knew us and knew what we were going to order. We order the same each time we go, so it was constantly. Every portion is different and their ingredients too like vegetables, sauce, and taste. The Restaurant now is so change; you can find more parking, tables and space. The bathrooms are completely different, but the ones that don’t change are the waiters. They are the same just few of them new ones.

The only thing that isn´t very good or the aspect that does´tmake the restaurant perfect is that they don’t have express service that will be something good. Because there are some moments that you are very tired and you want to eat at home. If you can have the opportunity to take a look for the Chinese culture, just do it, you will love it.
